November Festivities in Central Florida
With November well under way, we are getting closer to one of Orlando’s most magical times of year. When you come to Central Florida over the holidays there is never a shortage of things to do and see. All of the theme parks will be bubbling with celebrations and festivities, but that’s not the only place for some holiday fun. If you’re looking for something a little different to do in the area this year, we found some other neat events happening in November you might want to check out.
Festival of Trees at the Orlando Museum of Art
November 12th - 20th
Marked
as Central Florida’s premier holiday event, the Festival of Trees spans nine
days and has been an annual delight since 1986. The Orlando Museum of Art is
transformed into a winter wonderland with designer decorated trees, lights,
wreaths, and vignettes. You can enjoy the beautiful sights, grab a bite to eat
in the Festival Café or watch the daily entertainment provided by local area
dance groups and choirs. You can also choose to attend one of the festival’s
special events including the family-friendly Reindeer Romp or the trendy
Holiday Stroll.
Over 20,000 people attend the Festival of Trees annually, so make sure to add this to your vacation itinerary this year! Trees, wreaths, gingerbread houses and decorative holiday accessories will be available for purchase if you see something you want to take home! A small admission fee is charged.
48th Annual Space Coast Art Festival - Downtown Cocoa Beach
Thanksgiving Weekend November 26th - 27th 
Celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with one of the top art shows in the Southeast. The Space Coas t Art Festival begins Thanksgiving morning with a 5K Turkey Trot where you can run, walk, or jog into the start of a fun-filled weekend. The main show begins on Saturday and will be filled with great art, children’s activities, food, fun and entertainment. While the art show ends at 5pm, you can stick around to enjoy live stage music in downtown Cocoa Beach until 11pm. The art show continues on Sunday where you can immerse yourself in even more fun family activities including the Margaret Heins Student Art Show where you can view the work of young artists from Brevard County. There will be a variety of food and drink available throughout the whole weekend and plenty of entertaining activities for everyone in the family. Admission to the Space Coast Art Festival is free.
Central Florida International Auto Show
November 24th – 27th
Hundreds of the hottest cars, trucks, crossovers, exotics
and more will cruise into the Orange County Convention Center Thursday,
November 24 (Thanksgiving Day) for the 2012-Model Central Florida International
Auto Show. From test drives and exotics to electric cars and vintage vehicles,
this four-wheel extravaganza offers something for everyone! You can take a peek
at the newest 2012 models or get an up-close look at hot pre-production models.
If you want to do more than just look, get behind the wheel and test drive new
models from Kia, Toyota, Ford, Chrysler, or Jeep.
Besides just strolling through all the cars, the auto show also offers several special appearances and events including the Kids Fun Zone, Hank the Ford Robot and Cowboys & Aliens DVD giveaway from Universal. Sunday will host extra activities for the kids and all children under 12 will have free admission!
