Orlando: Best 5 Halloween Holiday Events for Families

Are you searching for a better way to spend the fall holidays with your family? If so, consider taking a trip to Orlando and spending them in our Disney area villa rentals. Many of our vacation rentals are located less than an hour’s drive from the best fall holiday events and they come with all of the amenities a growing family needs. That said, here’s a look at five October events that are just a pixie’s hop away:

 1.) Brick-or-Treat® (Winter Haven)

First on our list is LEGOLAND’s Brick-or-Treat. It’s slated to run on the weekends, throughout October, and is ideal for children 12 years of age or younger. What makes it such a great event are all of the activities on tap. The park’s long list of diversions even includes a dance party and costume contest complete with prizes. Plan on allowing 45-minutes’ drive time both to and from the park and several hours worth of onsite exploration.

2.) Sea World Halloween Spooktacular® (Orlando)

The next family friendly, holiday event to make our list takes place right in Orlando. It’s Sea World’s Annual Halloween Spooktacular®. Just like the Brick-or-Treat® celebration, it’s best suited for children up to 12 years of age and features an onsite dance party. Plus, age appropriate crafts and trick-or-treating are a part of the event too. It is expected to take place throughout the month, on weekend afternoons. If you do decide to go, allow at least 8 hours of park time, starting at noon.

3.) Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights® (Orlando)

Of course we can’t forget about families with teens. That’s why Universal Orlando Halloween Horror Nights® made the number three spot on our list. It is incredibly scary. As such, the kids must be 13 years of age or older in order to enter the park after dark. So you’ll want to leave the little ones at our Disney area villa rentals in the care of a trusted relative or local babysitting agency. The event typically runs from mid-September until early November, on the weekends and select weekday evenings.

4.) Central FL ZOO Boo Bash® (Sanford)

Coming in at the fourth spot on our list is the Central Florida ZOO Boo Bash®. It’s situated roughly 30 minutes away from Orlando. We love the event because it has activities suitable for all age groups right in one large, location. For example, the wee ones may enjoy trick-or-treating and the elementary school age kids will likely love the costume contest. Tweens and teens may appreciate the keeper chats, animal feedings and Walk on Water Balls. To date, the event is slated to take place the weekends of October 18th and October 25th. Plan on spending the entire day there fully emerged in fun.

 5.) Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (Orlando)

Last on our list is the well beloved, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It too is suitable for all of the kids, regardless of age. Just keep in mind that park management has specific guidelines regarding which Halloween costumes are able to be worn into the park. So you’ll want to plan your holiday supply purchases accordingly. This year, the event is anticipated to take place from early September until late October.
